T-Mobile promises that its first HSPA+ smartphone is "designed to run at 4G speeds." This means that it will take-on Sprint's formidable WiMAX 4G smartphones, the Epic 4G and the EVO 4G. Will it really be able to keep up with these powerful Android smartphones?

T-Mobile promised to launch its first HSPA+ smartphone this summer. Well, we now have a name for this upcoming Android phone, the T-Mobile G2.

Sprint's first WiMAX 4G smartphone is currently making waves in the market and T-Mobile seems to have taken notice. The carrier has revealed that it will launch a new HSPA+ capable smartphone before the end of the summer. 

Here's a great update for T-Mobile users. The carrier plans to expand its high-speed HSPA+ network to 19 cities throughout the United States next week. This network is one of the rivals of WiMAX 4G with theoretical maximum download speeds of 21 Mb/s and upload speeds go up to 5.7 Mb/s.

The HTC EVO 4G draw some attention to Sprint's WiMAX network, but T-Mobile has also been hard at work at expanding its HSPA+ footprint. In case you forgot, T-Mobile HSPA+ is a high-speed wireless network that is able to theoretically pump out speeds of up to 21 mbps.

Here's an interesting development in the WiMAX vs LTE contest. Verizon Wireless CEO Lowell McAdam said that it will not offer unlimited use of its Long Term Evolution 4G network. Sprint and Clearwire offers unlimited use for its WiMAX 4G networks and does not impose a usage cap.

T-Mobile has announced the latest expansion of its high-speed HSPA+ wireless network. The carrier's growing HSPA+ wireless network has reached the greater New York metro area. Memphis and Las Vegas customers can now benefit from the speedy online access via T-Mobile's expanding network using a properly enabled device.

T-Mobile is currently lagging behind its competitors in terms of wireless networks. This carrier is still focusing on its 3G network while its rivals already preparing for a commercial release of the new 4G wireless networks. However, T-Mobile's growing HSPA+ network is actually one of the fastest data network in the US.

LTE is seen as the rival of WiMAX 4G technology. However, LTE networks are still set to be rolled out this year and WiMAX is facing another fast mobile internet network in HSPA. T-Mobile recently launched its HSPA+ network and is expected to face off against Sprint and Clearwire's WiMAX 4G network.
